Understanding Your Child’s MAP Results

By | October 23, 2017

From Dr. Young:

During the first nine weeks of the school year we conduct annual testing to help determine your child’s current academic standing. The test we utilize for our universal screening of all students is the Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). This assessment is nationally normed and provides us with a national percentile rank for each student. This information is used, along with additional assessments and classroom observations, to place students in appropriate groups for personalized learning time (PLT). PLT provides each student with individualized instruction and interventions designed to meet their academic needs. For help interpreting your child’s results, please consult this reference guide or contact your child’s teachers. The MAP assessment will be provided again in November and February to track student progress and make any necessary changes to PLT placement.
